PAST PERFORMANCES
In the fall of 2002, the BMFC rehearsed and performed a staged-reading of the Adler and Ross musical classic Damn Yankees. Nearly 200 friends and family of the cast attended two performances held at 50th and Broadway, near the Winter Garden Theater. During the rehearsals, cast members received valuable advice from Judy Kaye, one of the stars of Mamma Mia, dancer and choreographer Christian Holder, and director/choreographer Bick Goss, a former Bob Fosse dancer.
In June 2003, the BMFC presented a staged reading of the Frank Loesser classic Guys and Dolls at the DiCapo Theater of St. Jean Baptiste Church in Manhattan. Family and friends filled the 120-seat theater for a rousing performance that was written about in the New York Daily News. The performer in the rehearsal picture below is Jackie Savage, who did a marvelous job playing Miss Adelaide.
In December 2004, the BMFC staged a version of the classic Fiddler on the Roof and performed the show at the 14th Street Y and in the Spring of 2006, the group performed a staged-reading of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic South Pacific (rehearsal photo on bottom). More than 100 friends and family of the cast attended each performance.
